Govenaires

Sara Buechmann started with the Govenaires as a performing member of the frontline in 1999, playing marimba, xylophone, and vibes. They performed on the field for many years, and can now be found playing bass drum with the Parade and Concert Corps, including with the international tours. In addition, they helped instruct the 2024 Winter Percussion ensemble.

Marching Experience

Their marching experience began with the St. Peter High School Marching Saints. They later featured in the multitalented Cymbal Guard of Tremendous Blast.

Personal and Professional Life 

Sara is a 2003 graduate of Carleton College with a B.A. in History and a 2013 graduate of Minnesota State University, Mankato with an M.A. in Teaching. They work as a nonprofit program administrator and live in Mankato with their partner Ryan, several pets, and a ridiculous number of musical instruments. In addition to the Govies, Sara can be found performing with Musicorum, Minnesota River Valley Wind Ensemble, Three Rivers Concert Band, and the Mankato Area Community Band.
